“The Hungarian Film Festival is without a doubt the best ethnic film festival in Los Angeles. It is well programmed and well produced. I cannot think of a better way in which to promote Hungarian cinema in Hollywood.” - Greg Laemmle, Chairman, Laemmle Theaters
Hungary's official Oscar entry, the Son of Saul was the film to launch on November 12 in Los Angeles the 15th Hungarian Film Festival organized by the Bunyik Entertainment marked by Bela Bunyik.
The Festival organized in LA represents a significant place in the Hungarian film’s appearance, which contributes to the aim to have the Hungarian culture become more widely known abroad.
The Hungarian wine culture is also part of the nation’s culture, as Hungary has been known of several centuries of experience in viticulture and winemaking. The pairing of film and wine can be considered a really lucky combination - many Hungarian films and Hungarian wines fittingly represent and show the country abroad and the commitment to the performance and profession of its inhabitants.
The visiting audience attending the screening of Son of Saul, winning the Film Festival’s main prize, was welcomed with outstanding Hungarian wines through which we tried to create interest and awareness towards the Hungarian quality wines and market demand for their sale in the United States.
We consider it important to be present with our wines at such unique, specific locations where – in synergy with other Hungarian products – we can contribute to building the country's image.
Congratulations to the organizers of the festival for the high level event and we are looking forward to future co-operation with them.
