St. Tamás Winerys Dry by Tokaj and Sweet by Tokaj developed especially for the Canadian market as well as the Yellow Muscat of Patricius Winery played the leading role on the October 24th Tokaj Wine Conference.
The venue was the La Primavera Convention and Hospitality Center, where leaders of various Hungarian organizations and associations were hosted. The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Bálint Ódor newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Canada, who reviewed the new, economy stimulating, foreign capital attracting policies and the initiatives to open foreign markets for Hungarian products launched by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade.
He confirmed that the Embassy and the new commercial counselors to start their assignment in Canada will have as main focus of their activity the identification and taking up of such business opportunities which could contribute to the strengthening of economic cooperation between the two countries, and open further markets for the Hungarian businesses and outstanding Hungarian products. He expressed his support for the companies engaged in the promotion and distribution of the Hungarian wines as a serious business potential resides on the Canadian market in these products, too.
The wines deployed for professional presentation and tasting during the conference were presented by the master sommelier Joseph Safrain.
The event was followed by the Hungarian Reformed Church 85th Anniversary Gala dinner where guests could enjoy the evening in the company of Tokaj wines.
