North American Master Sommelier, chef sommelier, lead sommeliers, wine directors, wine buyers, wine bloggers and writers were among our guests during the wine presentation programs hosted by Mad Wine Ltd., organized in co-operation with the SOMM Journal and Vinum Tokaj International LLC. as part of our wine promotion program.
Lectures about the history of Tokaj Wine Region, the grape varieties, wine producing methods, wines, vineyard tours, trips to world heritage sites and historical wine cellars, visits to Szent Tamás and Szepsy Winery as well as to Mád Wine Ltd.’s premises were all on the agenda. Culinary delights added special colors to the programs, showing and underlining their unique characteristics and potential as well as their perfect matching with different type of dishes, among them the barbecue and fine dining courses, too.
Stainless steel and/or barrel fermented, village level as well as single vineyard selections of dry Furmint were introduced to the guests with the aim to make them acquainted with the grape variety and the wines, to show their position on the international markets and highlight the new trends that Mád and the Tokaj Wine Region has set up to follow.
Traditional Tokaji sweet wines, like the Szamorodni and Aszú considered to be for centuries “The King of Wines and the Wine of Kings” could not miss from the portfolio, but as from the feedback received from the participants, the dry Furmint hacks undisputedly its way through to become the king’s successor.
As the first shipment of Mád Furmint 2015 has been just launched to the US and Canada, we hope to have our guests among our first buyers and establish with them a long-term business relationship.
